No, you can just go to the gallery of the artist and buy their work directly from them.

Do I have to be a member of Shopacomic to set up a gallery?
Yes, you have to register first. The website explains how to do this quickly and easily.

Do I have to be a professional artist to set up a gallery on Shopacomic?
No, certainly not. Shopacomic welcomes everyone who creates comic related art. To have a good idea of what you are doing, we will ask you to upload a few examples of your work or provide a link to your website when you register. At Shopacomic, we strive to provide a good mix of professional, established artists and new (or older) talents still to be discovered.

What does it cost to set up my own gallery on Shopacomic?
Shopacomic is free until July 2015.

What will Shopacomic cost after July 2015?
From then on, Shopacomic will cost €10/month, a fee you may be able to deduct from your taxes as professional expenses. Talk to your accountant about what is best for you!
If Shopacomic is not what you expected it to be after all, you can cancel your membership in the course of June 2015. Until then you will be able to try out Shopacomic for free. What is there to lose?

What will Shopacomic do for my €10 ?
Shopacomic is active in three languages and will promote your work through advertising in magazines and with banners on international websites, taking part in several trade fairs and it will have its own Facebook page to boot. You will receive a regular overview of the site’s activities via our Shopacomic Newsletter.

Does Shopacomic take a commission on the sales I make?
No. Artists will pay a monthly contribution for their gallery and Shopacomic will not charge any commission or additional costs.

Can I cancel my gallery on Shopacomic at any time?
Yes, you can cancel at any time. Just send an email to admin@shopacomic.com. Your membership will then be terminated at the end of that month. If you cancel during the free trial period (until 1 July 2015), Shopacomic will cost you nothing at all. (Again, what is there to lose?)

Do I really have to fill in ‘about me’ in my gallery?
No, but we recommend you do. It’s always a plus for collectors if they get some bonus information about artists. In this section you can also set up a link to your website/blog or Facebook page. Please bear in mind though that the language you write ‘about me’ in will be the one viewed on all the sites (so also those in Dutch and French). Shopacomic does not provide translations for these sections, but of course you can always put your biography on your page in several languages.

Can I set up a link to my website or blog?
Yes please! (see also the previous question)

I can’t see my work anymore.
Once your work has been there for a month, it’s moved from ‘new’ to ‘all’, so it’s still there, but in another place. So it’s better to upload one work every week, for example, than many different ones all at the same time. That way your work will always stay in ‘new’.

Can I upload lots of work in one go?
You can, but please see our suggestion in the previous question.

Can Shopacomic just use my work?
Shopacomic will use your work for promotional purposes only (to promote the Shopacomic website itself, of course, but also to promote your work). We will always ask your permission before using it (if possible) and will show it with a copyright statement and your name. Shopacomic will never use or lend your work for commercial purposes.
